Cathy Earnshaw
Linton ~Cathy is the daughter of Mr. Earnshaw and his wife. Catherine falls powerfully in love with Heathcliff, the orphan Mr. Earnshaw brings home from Liverpool. Catherine loves Heathcliff so much that she believes that they are the same person. However, her desire for social advancement caused her to marry Edgar Linton instead. Catherine is free-spirited, beautiful, spoiled, passionate, and violent at times. She has dark eyes and dark hair, which represents her passion and her spirit. Cathy is given to fits of temper, and she is torn between her wild passion for Heathcliff and her social ambition. She brings misery to both of the men who love her. Heathcliff is her soul mate and they grew up together playing in the moors. while living at the Grange with Edgar, Cathy became sick because Edgar wouldn't allow her to see Heathcliff. She blames Heathcliff and Edgar for the sickness. she believes that she became sick the day Heathcliff had left her. According to Heathcliff, she caused sickness herself because she was the one who chose Edgar and drive Heathcliff to run away by accidentally saying that marrying Heathcliff would degrade her. Cathy dies two hours after giving birth to Cathy Linton Heathcliff (married Heathcliff's son), she was buried in the moors. Cathy comes back to haunt Heathcliff because she was miserable in heaven, therefore the angels kick her back down in Wuthering Heights.
